Rajeev Thakur ji, IAS, Ministry of Commerce & Industry visit to the footwear manufacturing hub in Bahadurgarh, Haryana.

Today, Shri Rajeev Thakur ji, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, paid a visit to the footwear manufacturing hub in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. The visit included stops at major footwear manufacturers to observe the latest advancements in production processes and engage with industry representatives.
During his visit, Shri Rajeev Thakur ji first visited Walkaroo International Pvt. Ltd., where he examined the EVA and PU production facilities, gaining insights into the company’s manufacturing process. He then proceeded to Today Footwear Pvt. Ltd., where he observed the production of crocs, EVA sandals, and slippers. Shri Rajeev Thakur ji visited Allure Enterprises, which manufactures RED Tape shoes, to understand their production techniques and quality controls, Finally he visited Shalimar Overseas Private Limited to understand the knitting process and quality of uppers.
Following these visits, Shri Rajeev Thakur ji engaged in a comprehensive interaction at the Footwear Cluster, Bahadurgarh, with members of the Confederation of Indian Footwear Industry (CIFI), Bahadurgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), and Footwear Park Association. Key issues and recommendations were discussed to support the growth and sustainability of the domestic footwear industry. Notable topics included:

- Alternative Duty/Minimum Import Price (MIP).
- Support for Domestic Raw Material Production.
- GST Revisions on Footwear.

Shri Rajeev Thakur ji appreciated the concerns and proposals shared by industry representatives and assured them of DPIIT’s support in advancing the domestic footwear sector, especially in fostering a competitive, sustainable, and export-oriented industry framework.
During the meeting, Shri Subhash Jagga, President of BCCI, Shri Inder Chhabra, Vice President of CIFI, Shri H.S. Behaty, Joint Secretary of the Footwear Park Association, and Shri Alok Jain, Treasurer of CIFI, delivered the welcome address and expressed their gratitude to Shri Rajeev Thakur ji for his visit.
